MOACrestSm.gif (3991 bytes)IMOA's Board of Directors
Unlike many other owners groups or organizations who ultimately may (or may not) be privately owned "for profit" corporations thus quite possibly having differing long-term agendas from the aircraft owners themselves, IMOA/MOA is set up to be a member owned and managed, owners group/organization who has applied for full IRS 501c "Not For Profit" status.  This means that we are intended to be governed by the wants and needs of Mooney owner/members as a whole from the start, and not any commercial interest of one or a few vendors or suppliers etc.  While we are in deed an independent owners organization, when originally set up we do have a list of board members generally picked from across the country.  In addition we desire to have an officer, stockholders, or member of management of Mooney Aircraft Co. on our Board of Directors so as to insure a productive level of communication between the factory and the owners and enthusiasts of the Mooney aircraft product line.

The International Mooney Owners Association (IMOA) is the parent organization of the Mooney Owners of America (MOA) and is governed by MOA's Mission Statement.  Like most all other such "owner owned" organizations, IMOA/MOA is governed by it's corporate Board of Directors.  These board of directors shall largely be made up of individuals who are familiar with the wants and needs of private Mooney aircraft owners world wide and shall include (but not limited to) individuals such as Mooney owners, Mooney product line vendors and manufactures, and Mooney enthusiasts.
Note: See General Qualifications & Requirements in tan box below.

MOA's Advisory Board of Directors
const.gif (412 bytes)In addition to IMOA's Board of Directors, there may be a MOA Advisory Board of   Directors generally comprised from various areas of the Americas, elected at large to serve on same Advisory Board who shall advise MOA's Administrator, staff, and IMOA's Board on the wants and needs of the membership at large. This Advisory Board (hereby known as "The Board", "MOA's Board", or "MOA's Board of Directors"), will advise IMOA's Board of Directors on proposed MOA policies, direction, and methods of operation of which shall then be presented to MOA's Administrator and IMOA's corporate board for consideration and ultimate implementation.
Usual terms shall be from 1 to 5 years with no more than 3 consecutive terms being served by any one member and Advisory Board Members serve at the pleasure of the Administrator and ultimately IMOA's full Board of Directors.  The MOA Advisory Board shall normally meet two times a year with a minimum of 51% of all Board Members present to constitute a quorum.  Under certain circumstances, electronic or "Tele-conferencing" may be approved in order to facilitate quorum requirements.  Every Board Member shall however, usually be required to attend at least one meeting per year in person.

We encourage all MOA Members to get involved and either apply to, or consider nominations for, The Advisory Board.  It is your right to nominate qualified individuals and/or communicate your desires and wishes to your Board Members.  Remember, this is your organization and in all likelihood, IMOA/MOA may very well be the most influential voice of all Mooney owners world wide when addressing Mooney Aircraft Co., the FAA/NTSB, Mooney vendors and suppliers, and any other organization or governmental agency or entity.   For example, in many cases, MOA's Board recommendations and proposals can and will directly affect proposed AD's, factory Service Bulletins, and perhaps even FAA polices and procedures with members input and suggestions.

Keep In Mind:
When MOA speaks, we speak for you.........and many individuals, companies, industry organizations and governmental agencies will listen.......perhaps listen far more intently than just from one or two Mooney owners.
