THE MONEY PILOT Magazine
Subscription Policies, Problems, And FAQ's
Subscription Basics
MOA's subscription or
magazine distribution policy is unique and has confused some Mooney
enthusiast/owners into thinking they have joined (or renewed) when in fact they
are NOT currently a MOA member in good standing. Unless you join MOA and
are a member in good standing, you will only receive the 6 "free/open" issues
sent every other month IF MOA has a current address on file.
Since inception, we have sent every "all metal" M20 Mooney owner with valid FAA
registrations (and continental U.S. address) a complementary or FREE issue
bi-monthly. This is makes us the most widely read Mooney enthusiast
magazine. Only MOA Members in good standing get all 12 issues.
The 6 "free or open" issues are sent via pre-sort standard (bulk) U.S. mail to
the last known address of all U.S. M20 owners. However it isn't forwarded
unless you have asked your P.O. to do so, and because we request (and pay for)
address corrections, sometimes we can learn of forwarding addresses.
However, if we do not get a new address for you, you will be remove from our
list. Like most other magazines, MOA members also receive 6 (of their 12)
issues via this method as well. If you move and don't notify us, even MOA
members will be removed until we receive a good or current address for you.

Magazine Subscription Policies, Problems, And Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q) I am a member and am
not getting my magazine
A) The first thing you should do is to
verify if we have your correct address and contact information. Do this
either by going on-line and click in the "Update Our Data" section or
click in the little pop-up box which comes out each time you enter our site.
You have to put in your correct email for this to register and update
information. In addition, you can call, fax, or email us with your correct
data and "N number". In fact, it is a good idea to do both; update on-line
and send us an email, fax, or call. Make sure each time you contact
us you include a day phone, your "N number" and/or your MOA ID.
Q) I am NOT a MOA member but
am not getting my "free/open" issues
A) Again, we probably don't have current
contact information. See above but it is vital you make sure we have a
current address. However, if you notify us between the cycles of
free/members only issues, it is possible you won't receive a free/open issue for
up to two months or until the next free/open issue comes out.
Q) How can I get back issues
or at least the last few issues?
A) Most all back issues are available
but quantities are limited and first come, first served. Please advise
which issues you desire. Charges are $5.75 each ($15 minimum) plus S&H and
MOA members get a discount. Call, fax, or email us with your request.
We hope to publish a directory of topics in the near future to assist your
quest.
Q) I have joined MOA and
have not got any "official" notice
A) We are working on this and will have
a better system in the near future.
Q) I have verified my address
on-line (and it is correct), but still am not getting my magazines
A) Call or email us with your
particulars. We guarantee delivery only to MOA Members.
Sometimes we have found no particular reason, but members can't seem to receive
our "free/open" issues. We think you have postmen who like it.... Who
knows, we can guarantee they are sent but unfortunately things happen beyond our
control no matter how hard we try. We have had instances where complaints
to your local post office has cleared the problem. Imagine that...!
.
Q) I am a MOA Member, but
can't get in the "members only" section of the web site
A) You need three things to get in.
1) Be a member in good standing (our site keeps
track of your expiration date).
2) Have a current MOA ID,
3) Have a current password (which you have picked).
If you feel you have met all there criteria call or email us with your
particulars. If you have lost or forgotten your password or MOA ID, please
email us with your contact information AND "N NUMBER" as we will get back to you
soon.
Q) I am a member and don't
seem to be getting my "free/open" issues but I get my "members only" issues
A) The free/open issues are sent out
pre-sorted, not first class like the "Members only" issues. Thus first
class mail is forwarded and the others aren't. The problem can generally
be traced to a poor address or a mailman who likes our magazine... Call or
email us with your particulars and N NUMBER and/or MOA ID number.
Q) I get you confused with
the other Mooney group (MAPA). How can I tell if I am a current MOA Member
in good standing?
A) Many different brand aircraft have
several owner groups to choose from and it can be confusing. One way to
verify if you are a MOA Member in good standing is to see if you can get into
our "members only" section on-line. The other way is to see if you are
getting all 12 monthly issue or only every other one. Only MOA Members get
all 12 issues and all other Mooney owner/enthusiasts only get 1/2 the story...!
Call, email, fax, or write us if your status is in doubt or if you are confused.
The other organization is located in San Antonio, Texas and you can reach them
on-line at;
http://www.mooneypilots.com
We are totally two different organizations and they don't seem to like us
referring people to them, so except for this page we have eliminated their
contact data from our web site.
Q) Why was your Oct '2 issue
mailed so late and why have some of your other issues mailed late?
A) Good question. Several things happened in late fall
namely we had a major computer program Actually, we try to keep a tight schedule
between closing a magazine and getting it out. We adopted this policy back
when things were happening at Kerrville in fairly rapid order and thus, we
carried lots of late-braking news. Thus, we didn't have the time cushion
other magazines enjoyed. We are a small organization and sickness or
family emergencies can come into play.
Q) How do I join MOA?
A) You can join one of several ways,
1) On line and click on the "Join MOA" section.
If you join on-line you will have immediate access to the "members only" section
of our web site.
2) Email us with your particulars including your "N
number" and CC information
3) Call MOA toll free at: 877-JOIN MOA
(877-564-6662) and talk to our staff. If you call after hours EST, please
leave your contact information including your "N number" and we will return your
call the next business day.
